Just got off a call with @jradoff and the Beamable team and got me excited!

Disclosure: I do work with @BeamableNetwork to help break down some of the complex dev jargon to more digestible terms, but I accepted because I believe in it.

That being said, not understanding gaming infra makes it a little tricky for you to understand why $BMB or the nodes matter.

So lets break it down...

All games use cloud services like player accounts, content updates, leaderboards, etc., and Beamable has served 80+ games in these services before they decided to pursue a DEPIN infra.

Also, Beamable throws around API a lot, like a lot.

What does it mean...

In a game, whenever something in the game needs to fetch or store data from a server, it makes an API call.

Such as logging in and fetching your player profile, saving your progress to the cloud, checking the leaderboards, spawning multiplayer matches, and purchasing an item.

All these actions send API requests to a backend service, which then responds with the needed data or executes the action.

Know, each one of these API calls cost money for game devs to call and cost computing power. Nodes will help with that computation.

i.e., if you have a node, you will help and get rewarded for doing so.

I understand nodes or gaming tokens are a taboo topic but I found this as a opportunity to own infra that all game teams will need.
