@symbioticfi has made a key partnership with Lombard and Chainlink to bring new 'guarantee layer' for safer cross-chain bridging with $LBTC

The integration secures transfers of Lombard Staked Bitcoin (LBTC) across blockchains using Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP), marking two major industry firsts: the first production deployment of economically secured cross-chain bridging and the first time Chainlink has enabled staking outside its own infrastructure.

The first utility of BARD is staking.

Even in the issue of tokenomics, the Lombard team is creating an innovative approach.

They launched a 2-tier staking system for $BARD based on cryptoeconomic security

First, they launched staking through Symbiotic.

In practice, this means that validators will constantly monitor how LBTC moves between networks. If they notice harmful actions encouraging an attack on the protocol, they will receive a slash of BARD and lose the opportunity to participate in the protocol.

Secondly, the innovation is that validators do not execute transactions themselves, but monitor the CCIP protocol from Chainlink.

Thus, Chainlink oracles are under constant surveillance, in addition to the fact that they also internally verify the correctness of messages.

This approach provides a 2-tiered security with built-in economic incentives - if everything works correctly, Symbiotic oracles and validators receive rewards, if an attack is detected, slashing is applied.

Mellow Protocol is used to manage and distribute the stake and rewards, which manages the vault inside Symbiotic.

Lombard has come up with the first staking system of its kind for dApps, which can potentially be extended to many other projects.

This once again emphasizes the fact that the team is highly professional in their approach to the implementation of their tasks and has very strong qualifications that will allow them to grow the business in the future.

Big! Chainlink is notorious for using in-house solutions, so it is a high praise and strong validation for us to be used for core protocol functionality.

With more big tokens like @base , Hood(😉), Bard coming online, staking is the only good incentives alignment mechanism. Good time to be the only universal staking framework. More to come.
